Maxlangu is a language-learning app that deliberately works without a user account. You can use the app without registering or providing any personal details. We ourselves collect no personal data. The only exception is the optional advertising in the free version, which is provided by Google (see section 7).
Your progress (words learned, points, level, streak, settings) is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to third parties. Deleting the app removes it.
The full version is bought through the Apple App Store. Payment and management of the purchase are handled entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details (such as card numbers) and store none. Apple's privacy policy applies in addition.
If you turn on reminders, they are created as local notifications directly on your device. No data is sent to us.
To read words aloud, the app uses your device's own speech function (Apple). No personal data is processed by us in doing so.
As long as you have not bought any language, the app may show one small banner ad on the home screen. Ads are never shown in lessons, tests or games, and only ads suitable for a general audience are requested. Any purchase removes the ads for good.
The ads are delivered by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Google AdMob). To show and measure ads, Google may process data such as your IP address, device and app information, an approximate location and how you interact with the ad. Google may transfer data to the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Consent: Where required by law (e.g. in the EU), the app asks for your consent before any ad is loaded (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25 TDDDG). If you decline, ads are not personalised or not shown at all. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in the app under Settings → Ads & privacy.
No tracking across apps: Maxlangu does not ask for permission to track you (App Tracking Transparency) and therefore does not use the advertising identifier of your device. Maxlangu contains no analytics tools of its own.

The app is aimed at a general audience and knowingly collects no data from children.
We ourselves collect and hold no personal data about you. Regarding the advertising (section 7) you can withdraw your consent at any time in the app and contact Google directly.
